Modern Metal Finishing offers premium chromate conversion coating and non-chromate conversion coating services for all aluminum alloys. Trivalent (clear) chromate process is available. Our Non-Chromate Conversion Coating is an innovative approach of applying a protective oxide coating on aluminum alloys. This process can be offered in various pre-finishes (bright or matte) and can be dyed in virtually any color. Unlike anodizing, this coating is conductive, which makes it an excellent finish for electrical and electronic components.

Our non-chromate conversion coating (NCCC) process offers an excellent alternative to customers when bulk anodizing is either impractical or not cost effective. NCCC leaves the finish of the aluminum intact, making it ideal for customers who desire additional corrosion protection but wish to maintain the aluminum finish with no cracking or peeling of the surface coating. If desired, NCCC coated parts can also be dyed in any custom color. Our lab uses salt spray testing in accordance with ASTM B117 to ensure finishes offer the required corrosion protection for the application.

We serve the aerospace, medical, firearm and automotive industries and are experienced in meeting many industry specifications. We are an ITAR registered, NADCAP accredited, and FFL approved company. Our typical turnaround time is 1-2 weeks, but expedited service is available to serve our customers. If your goal is to achieve an affordable, cosmetic appearing coating, which is metal free, this process may be what you require. Our technical staff will be able to assist you with determining this decision.
